James Floyd Gurley, 64 of Toney, Alabama, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024. He was the son of the late Billy Earl and Mary Ray Gurley.

He was born and raised in Madison County.  He enjoyed racing, especially go cart racing at Beaver Creek Speedway.  Another favorite passtime was watching wrestling and anything to do with Star Trek.  His favorite time of the year was fall.  He very much enjoyed the festivities surrounding Halloween.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by daughters, Maranda Flynt, Jessica (Dennis Taylor) Gurley and Anna Gurley; grandchildren, Dakota Woods, Levi Gurley, Madison Stewart, Alexus Beard, Deven Beard, Matthew (Gracie) Taylor; great grandchildren, Oakley Beard, Deven C. Beard, Ryder Beard, Lakeleigh Hale, Dayson League;  brother, Jackie Riggs and many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Hazel Green Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.  A Celebration of Life will begin immediately following at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be able to the Wounded Warrior Project.
