Paul C. Jones of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday morning while surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 and was known as "Buddy" by his family.
He was a 1956 graduate of Paint Rock Valley High School and was the well-known host of the Ole Time Country Radio Show live from Lynchburg, Tennessee for many years. When Covid19 hit, he began doing the live show from his home. He has listeners from all over the world and was passionate about bluegrass and country music.
Paul was also a master craftsman and was gifted at building. He was a husband to the love of his life, Marilyn, and was a great father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Jones, and by his daughter-in-law, Becky Clardy Jones.
Surviving family members include his wife of 66 years, Marilyn Jones; his son, Carey Jones; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian & Gina Jones; his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn & Ron Derting; his grandchildren: Stephanie (Jason) Payne, Weston (Emma) Jones, Cassie (Justin) Beaupre, Chris (Nicole) Pack, Michelle (Shaun) Towry.
He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and one on the way, along with his brother, Curtis Jones, his sisters, Shirley (Allen) Duckett and Gaye (Charlie) Payne, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends from around the world.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 11am until 1pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with Reverend Eddie Lones officiating. Entombment will then follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
