Alberta O'Leary, 81, of Hazel Green, went to be with the Lord on Sunday. She was born in 1933 in Graysville, Tennessee and grew up there and in Rossville, Georgia. She had retired from the hosiery mills where she labored for many years.
Mrs. O'Leary was a Christian and a member of LifeChurch International in Huntsville and had been since 1966 when the church was known as the Virginia Boulevard Church of God.
Alberta was preceded in death by her son, Michael Posey who died in 1998 and by her parents, William and Nettie Goins Bolden.
She is survived by her husband, Edward O'Leary; Her daughter, Vickie Richardson; Her son. William Posey; Her granddaughters, Michelle Posey Woods and Holly Clyburn, whom she loved dearly and raised as her own daughters; Her three sisters: Ann Sonnefeld, Mary Paul, and Dixie Haynes; Her step-children: Dennis O'Leary, John O'Leary, and Katie O'Leary; Her grandchildren: Lawrence Traglia Jr., Jarrad Harris, Kristen Patterson, Anna Katherine O'Leary, Jake O'Leary, and Felicia O'Leary; She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from Noon until 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 2pm with Rev. Kevin McGlamery and Rev. James Duckworth officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 2:30pm EST at the Lakewood Memory Gardens South in Rossville, Georgia with Rev. Don Harris officiating.
