Barbara Muriel (Luna) Thomas

Barbara Muriel Thomas, age 82, of Hazel Green, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. She was born on May 21, 1936 to Green A. and Flossie Luna in the Dallas Mill Village of Huntsville. She was a nurse and worked for many years at Crestwood Hospital and several nursing homes.
She is survived by one daughter, Alice Jean White (Ronald) of Madison, AL; One son, Stanley Ray Thomas (Dorothea) of Hazel Green, AL; Five grandchildren: Jennifer Thomas (Mike Capps) of Hazel Green, AL, Melissa Thomas of Hazel Green, AL, Brian White (LaDawna) of Slidell, LA, Teresa White Williams (Scott) of Easley, SC, Christina Foster (Matt) of Toney, AL; One brother, Jerry Luna of Hazel Green, AL and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Thomas; A son, Donnie Thomas; Two sisters, June Marie Luna, Evelyn Luna Andrews, and three brothers, Gilbert Luna, Dwight Earl Luna, and Terry Luna.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 5 until 8pm and Sunday from 12:30pm until 1:30pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2pm at Charity Cemetery.
