On Saturday, the 11th of August, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Daryl H. Satterfield, 65, of Hazel Green, went to be with the Lord.
He was an active member of Flint River Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for several years. He was a very talented Master Carpenter who always put his heart and soul into his work and his family. He was always honored to attend mission trips with his church to Haiti and Nicaragua, where he used his love for his fellow man and his skills in carpentry to help improve the lives of the Haitian and Nicaraguan people, and to help share with them the Word of God. He was also a life-long lover of music, having sung, wrote, and played songs for about 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Satterfield, and his mother, Verdie Satterfield; two brothers, Curtis Satterfield and Mark Satterfield; a sister, Janet Riggins; and a grandchild, Katlyn Satterfield.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Satterfield; his two sons, Jason Satterfield and Shawn (Sherry) Schober; a brother, Mike (Michelle) Satterfield; two sisters, Debbie (Mike) McBride, and Lori (Stanley) Carter; 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Zachary, Tiffany, and Amber; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 — 8:00 PM, with the funeral to follow on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Hazel Green Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Benny Berry and Steve Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Bevills Cemetery in Hazel Green, AL.
