Mr. Gordon Leslie Lee Jr, 81, of Hazel Green, Alabama, passed away on Friday while surrounded by his family. He had lived in the Hazel Green community for almost 30 years.
He was a family man who loved his wife, children and many grandchildren very much. Gordon enjoyed singing gospel music with his wife, Marie. He served two tours of duty in the United States Army and enjoyed traveling around the world during his military service. In his younger years, he was a hard-working man and worked as a truck driver for several meat companies, was a diesel truck mechanic, worked for Colonial Bread for a number of years, and worked for the City of Huntsville.
He was preceded in death by wife of 63 years, Mildred Marie Allen Lee; His father, Gordon L. Lee Sr; His mother, N. Lucille Lee; His sisters: Mildred E. Mefford, Tommie O. Congo; His brother, John R. Lee.
Surviving family members include his sons: Roger Lee and Ricky Lee; His daughters: Linda Lee Jones, Debbie Lee Ashby, Tina Lee Buchanan, and Sondra Lee Farmer. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Dorothy D. Miller and Linda J. Williams.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5pm until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Lones officiating. Burial will follow in New Sharon Cemetery.
