Lawrence Young Whisenant
March 6, 1952 — January 30, 2020
Lawrence Young "Whiz" Whisenant, 67 of Hazel Green, passed away on Thursday.
He especially loved his children and grandchildren and had a passion for bass fishing. He worked for Media Solutions until he retired and then was in business with his dad operating Whiz Lawn Care.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Whisenant, by his son, Ricky Young Whisenant, by his son, David Richards, his sister-in-law, Kathy Whisenant, and by his parents, Boyd Young Whisenant and Juanita Moore McDow.
Surviving family members include his daughters, Melissa Stoltz and Brooke Martin; His son, Blake Pruett; 13 grandchildren; His sister, Becky Brandon; His brothers, William Whisenant and Jerry Whisenant and wife, Lovell; His aunts, Eva Louise Sisk and Dorothy Sims Tully; His step-father, Jerry McDow, his step-brother, Wilson McDow, and his step-sister, Joni Bonner. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2pm at the funeral home with Rev. Ricky Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
