Sydne Spencer was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 5, 1956 and unexpectedly passed away on December 15, 2016. She was a resident of Lincoln County, Tennessee.
While she was still an infant her parents smuggled her back into the U.S. She declared her American Citizenship at the age of 18, and in recent years obtained her Passport. She has lived in Huntsville, AL; New Orleans, LA; Fayetteville, TN; and Taft, TN. Most of her relatives are in Tullahoma and Central Tennessee.
She is survived by her husband Robert Spencer, her sister Simone Easley, her son Aaron Anderson and his two sons Ivan and Viktor, and daughter Amanda Hicks and son-in-law Todd Hicks and their two children Roxy and Cameron. She loved and was loved by her family.
Sydne accomplished many amazing things during her life and this document is liable to omit things you may know of (she and this document are liable to omit some things of which you may know). In high school, she was active in theater, art, and music. In her teens and twenties, she was a graphic artist, musician, and assisted in local theatre. In her mid-twenties and early thirties, she became an engineer, married Lynn Anderson and had two children, Aaron and Amanda. In her mid-thirties, she divorced a few years before meeting and marrying Robert Spencer. Shortly after their marriage Sydne obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology at UAH, and her Master’s Degree in Industrial Technology at Alabama A&M University.
She has worked for well-known enterprises, such as Boeing, Lockheed, WestWind Technologies, and StrateG Solutions, Inc. She always enjoyed her work, met many interesting people, and made great friends along the way. At one time, she even trained astronauts to work in zero gravity conditions.
Over the course of her life, she excelled at many things, and her hobbies ranged from scuba diving, playing guitar, to an array of artistic pursuits. In her younger years she made musical appearances on public access TV. And she played an active role on design of the Hubble Telescope and Space Station. She wrote two books one on obedience training for dogs and an adventure book for her grandchildren. In recent years, she became an esteemed member of the International Scratchboard Society. Her artwork was displayed in many places in Huntsville, and even Phoenix, AZ. She traveled to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, Mexico, and Guatemala. She was planning to travel to Australia in the spring of 2017 to attend an International Scratchboard Society conference where she was to be recognized for her scratchboard artwork.
Sydne was an amazing person and was a legend among friends and coworkers. There are very few people in this world with her many talents and she will be sorely missed!
