Agnes Annie Catherine Reid

Agnes Annie Catherine Reid departed this life on July 10, 2022. She was born August 25, 1928 and was a lifelong resident of Plevna AL. She was preceded in death by her parents; Irlan and Irene Reid, her brothers; James, Rickey, and Eugene Reid, and her sister Louise Rozell.

She is survived by her sister Helen Helser of Plevna AL, a host of nephews and nieces and Great nephews and nieces. Growing up, Agnes was the one who always took care of everyone else, she was never married and didn’t have children of her on. Agnes did however continue to take care others in her home daycare.  “Her kids” called her “Aggie,” there’s about 100 of them, and she is still “Aggie” to every one of them. In her recent days, she stayed at Cloverdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Scottsboro AL. A couple of the nurses called her Granny and she promptly set them straight; she was not a Grandmother,  it was Agnes or they could call her Aggie also.

She loved the people and the nature all around her. She loved her flowers, the Humming Birds that were regulars to her feeder. She loved her dog Cassie Lee and her cat Toby, (even when Toby got into the refrigerator , yes curiosity did almost kill the cat, or when he stole one of her hearing aids). Agnes touched many lives thru her 93 years and was loved by all that knew her, she will be missed.

Funeral services will be Wednesday 12 Noon at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Jason Reid officiating   and burial following in Pleasant Grove (New Church) Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday 10-12 at Hazel Green Funeral Home
