Allene Brown

Allene McGehee Brown passed away Thursday evening at her home.She was an active member of Union Grove Baptist Church in New Market, AL since 1945 and was retired from J.C. Penney.She was preceeded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Brown, her parents, the Rev. Jerry and Jennie McGehee; two sisters: Edith McGehee and Mable Moore, all of New Market.She is survived by one son, Kenneth R. Brown and his wife Suzanne of Mt. Juliet, TN; One daughter, Judy B. Jennings and husband Gerald of Hazel Green, Al. Two granddaughters, Melanie J. Barkley and husband Scott of Meridianville and Lynn J. Saint and husband Jason of Union Grove. Two grandsons: Andy Brown and wife Katie of Hendersonville, TN and Jake Brown of Columbus, Ohio. Five great-grandchildren: Dalton and Bryant Barkley, Collin and Mollie Brown, and Olivia Saint. One brother-in-law, Clifton Moore of New Market.Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 4 until 8PM at the Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 2PM at the Union Grove Baptist Church in New Market with Rev. Dalton Warden and Rev. Paul Little officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery in Plevna.In lieu of flowers, a love offering may be made to the Union Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 1498 Butler Road, New Market, AL 35761.
