Alvie Roland

Mr. Alvie Roland, 70, of Hazel Green, Alabama,  passed away on Saturday morning.

He grew up in Lickskillet and attended Hazel Green and New Sharon Schools and attended Charity Baptist Church.   He owned and operated Alvie's Home Repair and Remodeling for many years.  Mr. Roland enjoyed coffee and Pall Mall cigarettes and was a man of his word - his word was his bond.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Estelle and Nellie Roland, by his brothers, Howard, Lloyd, and Vernon Roland, by his sister, Jerline Fiori, and by his granddaughter, Nicole Roland.

Mr. Roland is survived by his wife of 47 years, Martha Roland, by his sons, Ray Roland and Keith Roland, and by his daughter-in-law, April Roland.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Brandon Roland, Hunter Roland, Haley Roland, and by his beloved dog, Roscoe.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Lon Ostrzycki officiating.  Burial will then follow in Charity Cemetery.
