Anne Trunk

Mrs. Anne Trunk, 93, of Hazel Green, Alabama, originally of Chicago, Illinois. passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at her home.

Mrs Trunk spent her life in the restaurant business having owned and operated her own restaurant and operated one of the largest Elks Clubs in the Chicago area.  She retired from the Elks Club when she was in her 70s.   When her daughter was a child, Anne was a devoted Girl Scout leader for many years.  She was a Christian and was last a part of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Arlington Heights, Illinois.  Upon the death of her husband in 2012, Anne came to Hazel Green to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40+ years, Alfred Trunk, and by her second husband, Sam Abenanti, to whom she was married for over 10 years, and by her parents, James and Gladys Phillips of the Chicago area.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Dennis Kocher of Hazel Green, Alabama;  By six grandchildren:  David Lane and his wife, Margaret of Rochester, NY, Scott Kocher and his wife, Leslie of Indianapolis, IN, Bryan Kocher and his wife, Lori of Pittsburg, PA,  Kevin Kocher and his wife, Rebecca of Washington State, Catherine Harris and her husband, Karl of New Market, Alabama, and Karen Goodwin and her husband, Shawn of Chesapeake, VA;    Her 19 great-grandchildren:  Michael, Stephen, Bethany, Alexandra, Rachel, Andrew, Kristina, Matthew, Michael, Kurtis, Jessica, William, Lilly, Damon, Seth, Greg, Kirsten, Yese, and Daniel;  1 great-great grandson, Tobias.

There will be a memorial service on August 21st at 2pm at St. Mark's Lutheran Church located at 200 Longwood Drive SE;  Huntsville, AL  35801.
