Mrs. Louise McCollum, 79, of Meridianville, went to be with the Lord on Monday.

She was born and raised in the Meridianville community and was a long-time member of Plainview Church of Christ. She was a former teacher, a proud homemaker, and she loved cross-stitching, crocheting, quilting, sewing, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert McCollum; Her parents: Wade and Leona Preston; Her brothers, Richard and Charles Preston; Her sister, Evelyn Emerson; Her son-in-law, Ronald Bailey;

She is survived by her two daughters: Mary (Steve) Berry, and Bertha "Boots" Bailey; Her sister: Linda Edwards; Her grandchildren: Christina Sablan, Kimberly (Michael) Parton; Jesse (Brittany) Berry; Aaron Berry; Brandy (Michael) McCown; Great-grandchildren: Emily Shackelford, Aubrey Sablan, Noah Berry, Coleman & Barrett Parton, Rachel McCown and Brooklyn McNeese. She is also preceded in death by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Hunnicutt officiating. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery, Butler Road, New Market.
