Barbara A. Kocher, 75, of Hazel Green, Alabama, formerly of Brockway, PA, died Wednesday, August 23 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 14, 1942 in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Anne (Phillips) Trunk.
On September 1, 1979 she married Dennis Kocher. He survives.
She was a dental assistant for 17 years, and then worked in the medical field for an additional 5 years. In 1994, she and her husband opened the Cook Homestead Bed & Breakfast in Cook Forest until they retired in 2008.
She was active in her church, St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Huntsville, AL.
Her hobbies included traveling, cooking and reading.
She is survived by six children, David (Peggy) Lane of Rochester, NY; Scott (Leslie) Kocher of Fishers, IN; Bryan (Lori) Kocher of Oakdale, PA; Kevin (Rebecca) Kocher of White Salmon, WA; Cathy (Karl) Harris of New Market, AL; and Karen (Shawn) Goodwin of Chesapeake, VA. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and one great grandson.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Barbara on October 20th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Huntsville, AL.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
