Barbara Jean (Carter) Taylor
November 14, 1934 — April 28, 2024
Barbara Jean Carter Taylor, 89, a beloved community member, was born and raised in Madison County. She graduated from Hazel Green High School and had a successful career at Bellsouth, where she retired after over 40 years of dedicated service.
Barbara cherished the simple joys of life, especially the beauty of sunsets. She deeply loved her family and spent her life surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Yellow roses held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Florence Carter; her son, Charles Carter Taylor; and her brothers, Jerry Mack Carter and Mickey Dean Carter.
She is survived by her sons, Tony Taylor and Bruce (Annette) Taylor; grandsons, Daniel, David, Dennis, and Derek (Micky) Taylor; great-grandsons, Matthew Taylor; and great-granddaughters, Enzlee, Ealiza, and Eavah Taylor.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 1, from 12:00 - 2:00 at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on May 1 at Hazel Green Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Charity Cemetery.
