Betty Lou Travis

Betty L. TravisApril 24, 1932 ~ February 27, 2011Betty Lou Travis passed away Sunday at Huntsville Hospital. Betty was born in Hazel Green, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford Travis and Mildred Towry Travis. She was an Air Force Veteran and retired from the Federal Government. Survivors include her son, Daniel Alford Travis; her brother, Dale Travis; her sisters, Doris Towry, Joey Crick and Pat Hill; her nieces and nephews, Karen (Jerry) Scott, Nancie (Chris) Jones, Heidi (Russell) Fowler, Belinda (Rick) Randall, Melissa (Sal) Sciacchitano, Amy (Kenny) McKinney, Lisa (Mike) Belk; her nephews Johnny (Kathy) Hill, Ronnie (Barbara) Travis, Marty (Debbie) Smith; and numerous cousins and other family members. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening 5 to 7:30 pm at New Market United Methodist Church at 310 Hurricane Road New Market. The Rev. Patrick Cooley will hold a memorial service at 7:30 pm immediately following the visitation. The family wishes to thank Peggy Jackson, caregiver, as well as the nursing staff of Tutt Fann Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Valor Flight at P.O. Box 1353 Madison, AL 35758 as she was a Korean Era Veteran. Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
