Bobbie Jo Layne

Mrs. Bobbie Jo Guthery Layne, 78, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday at her home.  She was a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ and had retired from the Chrysler Corporation after 28 years.  She was an avid equestrian and enjoyed showing her Tennessee Walking horses.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Lewis and Clayburn "Pete" Layne; Her parents: John and Rubie Guthery; Her infant brother and sister: Orville and Sarah Guthery;  Her sister: Patsy Miller;  Her twin infants sons: Dewayne and David Lewis, and her great-grandson, Matthew Arrington.

Mrs. Layne is survived by her son, Tommy Lewis and his wife, Hayley of Fayetteville, TN;  Her daughter, Babs Thompson and her husband, Herman of Kelso, Tennessee;  Two step-sons:  David Layne of Georgia and Clay Layne of Toney, Alabama ;  Her grandchildren: Tamitha Marcial of Fayetteville, Ashley Lewis of Texas, John Lewis of Hazel Green, Billy Lewis of Fayetteville, Sarah Thompson of Huntsville, Christopher Thompson of Kelso and Matthew Layne of Fayetteville;  Her 9 great-grandchildren; Gavin, Amos, Isaiah, Jonah, Alex, Miranda, Aiden, Shyanne, and Emilie.   Her sisters: Johnnie Atkins, Jean Jackson, and Mary Fields all of Huntsville along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening at Hazel Green Funeral Home from 5 until 8pm;  Funeral services will be Saturday at 2pm at the funeral home with Jim Black officiating.  Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery in Meridianville.
