Bruce Cantrell

It is with regret that we announce the death of Dennis Bruce Cantrell, 60, of Hazel Green.  Bruce passed away peacefully at home on Thursday.

Bruce graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1981.  He was a 30 year member of Bevill's Chapel Baptist Church.  Bruce loved Alabama football and NASCAR.  He was a volunteer at the Hazel Green Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed spending time with his friends at Billy's Sports Bar.  During the final weeks of his life, Bruce was showered with love and support from the Hazel Green community.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Billy's Sports Bar for organizing multiple events to grant some of Bruce's final wishes.

Surviving family members include his parents, Roy & Carolyn Cantrell of Hazel Green; Three sisters, Janet Haenisch of Huntsville;  Melody Coston of Gulf Breeze, Florida; Tina Cantrell of Birmingham;  One niece, Rachel Brannon of Madison;  One nephew, Adam Barnes of Crestview, Florida; and Bruce's girlfriend, Michelle Perry of Fayetteville, Tennessee.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bevill's Baptist Church or Hazel Green Volunteer Fire Department.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:30pm until 2:30 pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 2:30pm at the funeral home with Pastor Benny Berry officiating.   Burial will follow the service and will be in Bevill's Cemetery.
