Calvin W. Beard

Mr. Calvin Beard, 60, of Hazel Green, Alabama, passed away on Monday at his home.

He was a huge Alabama football fan and he loved the outdoors, especially fishing,  Calvin loved others and was a very generous person.  One of the joys of his life was his grandchildren.  He believed in prayer and spent a lot of time talking to the Lord and reading the Bible.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Betty Jo Holder Beard, his sister, Deborah "Sissy" Beard Jennings and her husband, Gary, and his uncles, Larry Beard, Kenneth Beard, and William "Bill" Holder.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Nick Johnson; His grandchildren: Kylie, Jacob, and Luke Johnson; His brothers: Randall Beard and Danny Beard;  His nephew, Jason Jennings.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday at 11am at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at Noon with Nick Johnson officiating.  A private burial will be held afterward at Taylor Cemetery.
