Cecil Neely

Cecil R. NeelyNovember 3, 1943 ~ April 1, 2010Mr. Cecil Neely, 66, of New Market, went to be with the Lord on Thursday at his residence. He was employed by District One of the Madison County Commission and had been a successful entrepreneur in the auto salvage business for 40 years. Mr. Neely was always interested in helping other people and never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting with his friends and working on his 67 Corvette Stingray. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Bessie Neely. His sister, Violet Bentley, and his grandson, Brandon Guthrie. He is survived by his wife, Wanda K. Neely. His son, Michael Neely and wife, Karen. His daughter, Lynn Guthrie and husband, Keith. His grandchildren: Colby and Kylie Guthrie, Christina Mathis, Kirsty and Colin Neely, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1pm at the funeral home with the Reverends Benny Berry, Robert Sharp, and Donnie Hillis officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or to Hospice of North Alabama.Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
