Mr. Charles D. Preston, 73, of Meridianville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon.
He was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hazel Green and he loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Preston; His sister, Evelyn Emerson, and his brother, Richard Preston.
He is survived by his daughters: Robin Preston, and Penny (Gary) Valcana; 4 grandsons: Lucas (Alicia) Greene, Robert (Danielle) Valcana, Matthew Greene, & Jon Valcana; His sisters: Louise McCollum and Linda Edwards. Two great-grandchildren: Bristol Greene and River Greene. Mr. Preston is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Sunshine.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2pm at the funeral home with Rev. Bobby Eads officiating. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery on Butler Road in New Market.
