Charles "Charlie" William Lovell

Mr. Charles William "Charlie" Lovell I, age 85, of Hazel Green, went to be with the Lord on Friday evening while surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was predeceased by his wife, Patsy Delores Gentry Lovell, by his parents, Gertrude Kathleen Weir Lovell and Hubert Eldridge Lovell Sr., his brother, Hubert Eldridge Lovell Jr., his sister, Olivia Belle Lovell Lyle, and his son, Charles W. "Chuck" Lovell II.

He is survived by his children: Rebecca, Kathleen (Stanley Parker), Jane, David (Staci) and Greg (Kim); his daughter-in-law, Janice; his grandchildren: Scott Parker (Rachel), Stacey Perry, Ryan Parker (Kristin), Daniel Perry (Tamara), Averi Lovell, Ethan Lovell, Chase Lovell, Jacob Lovell and Gabriel Lovell; his great-grandchildren: Hailey Parker, Caleb Logsdon, Gavin Logsdon, Courtney Parker, Elijah Logsdon, Keane and Gracie Parker, Lucas Logsdon, Taziah Burnett, Hadassa Logsdon and Sebastien Perry; and by his much-loved "baby brother", Tommy Lyle.

Charlie had retired as a charter member of Marshall Space Flight Center after more than 40 years of service with NASA.   He loved being outdoors, was an artist, photographer, a lifelong learner, and could talk with anyone about any topic.

He became a Christian late in life, was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, and credited God in changing his outlook on life.  He became a man who loved everyone he met.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Monday at 11am at the funeral home with burial following in Charity Cemetery.
