Christine Wilburn Flynt

Christine Wilburn Flynt, 84, of Hazel Green, went to be with the Lord on Monday.  She had retired from Genesco.

Christine was a devoted follower of Christ and a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and "Aunt Chrissy" who encouraged everyone she met with her sweet spirit.  She enjoyed cooking and having family over every Sunday.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 54 years, Walter Billy Flynt; Her son-in-law, Randy Chambers;  Her parents, Burl Jessie & Beatrice Wilburn;  Her brothers, Burl Jr & Billie Wilburn,  Houston & Dean Wilburn, Billy Ray Wilburn, Edward Wayne Wilburn, and Jimmy Wilburn; Her brother-in-law, Wayne Whaley.

Surviving family members include her daughter, Telesia Chambers;   Her grandchildren:  Brittany Chambers and Bailey Chambers;  Her sister, Bettie Whaley;  Her brothers, Jessie "Jip" Nolan & Ann Wilburn, Earl & Nancy Wilburn; Her beloved friend/sister, Rachael Lowery; Her sisters-in-law:  Sandra Wilburn, Dorothy Wilburn, and Gail Wilburn, Betty Flynt, Peggy Boatwright and brother-in-law, A C Flynt.  She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

The family will receive friends on Friday beginning at 12pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Pastor Lon Ostrzycki and Pastor Joel Carwile officiating.   Pastor Philip Eady and Jeff Simmons will minister in song.  Burial will be in Charity Cemetery.
