Dawn Mullins Long

On August 22, 2022, Dawn Mullins Long,  daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, Christian, and dear friend, passed away at the age of 52. Her service will be held on August 26, 2022 at 6 PM at the Hazel Green Funeral home, followed by a cremation.

Dawn was born in La Vergne, TN to Ralph and Carolyn Mullins, on August 29, 1969. She filled the lives of all those around her with light and joy even from a young age. Dawn grew to become an educator by degree but her lessons extended outside the classroom. She took every opportunity to teach those she ran into about kindness, compassion, and the love of Christ.

The most common words used to describe Dawn were sweet, silly, gentle, and on rare occasions, a penguin enthusiast. She loved to laugh, she loved to play games, she loved to travel, and most of all she loved to love.

Dawn is survived by her husband, Mike Long, and her parents, Ralph and Carolyn Mullins. She is survived by her older brother Stephen Mullins, his wife Karis, and their three children John, Jordan, and Joanna. She is survived by her three children: Jessica and her husband James Weaver, Kayla Wacaster, Benjamin Wacaster and his fiancé Claire Lewis. She is survived by her two stepdaughters, Erin and her husband Josh Owens and Emma Long. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Harrison Weaver and Piper Owens.

All those who knew Dawn were blessed by her smile and changed by her love. She will be remembered, celebrated, and missed but our lives will be forever changed by the time we were lucky enough to spend with her.
