Dean Franklin Helser
August 18, 1932 — December 24, 2020
Dean Franklin Helser, 88, of New Market, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, December 24, 2020. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and had retired from Boeing.
He was a beloved husband, father, granddaddy, and faithful friend. He was born in Palmer, Nebraska and was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth Gammon Helser, and by his sisters, Lola Smith and Alvana Paulsen.
Dean is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Helen Helser; By his children: Karen (Lou) Thiry, Brian (Karen) Helser, Dona (Kerry) Baker, and Kelly (Amy) Helser; 3 step-children: Debra (Carroll) Gillespie, Randy (Sharon) Bailey, and Brian Bailey and his daughter, Sarah. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday beginning at 1pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove “New Church” Cemetery in New Market with military honors.
