Dickey L. Stewart

Mr. Dickey L. Stewart, 77, of Hazel Green, passed away on Saturday while at home with his family. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he obtained the rank of sergeant.

He spent his life enjoying farming and was retired from Huntsville Utilities.  He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and hunting with his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin & Allie Lou Stewart and his brother, E.C. Stewart.

Surviving family members include his wife of 56 years, Judy Bishop Stewart;  His sons, Randall (Shannon) Stewart and Jason (Catherine) Stewart;  His grandchildren: Hoyt Stewart, Wyatt Stewart, and Taylor Stewart;  His brothers: Marcus (Dodie) Stewart and Buster (Glenis) Stewart; His sisters: Cathy (Tommy) O'Rear and Janice (Brett) Cook.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:30pm until 3pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  A graveside funeral service will be at 3pm at New Sharon Cemetery with Pastor Mike McFarlen and Chaplain Randy Evers officiating.

Pallbearers will be Brad Stewart, Kelly Stewart, Stewart McGill, Scott O'Rear, Logan McCann, Brandon Holt, and honorary pallbearer, Jeff Stewart.
