Doris Marlow of Desert Hot Springs, CA passed away in Palm Desert, CA. She was the daughter of Charlie and Cloie Marlow of Fayetteville TN.
She attended the University of Tennessee and worked as a research chemist to determine the effects of nuclear radiation on the cerebral and circulatory systems of biological life. She also worked as an aerospace engineer in Alabama programming a rocket guidance system used in transporting the astronauts to the moon.
Later she moved to southern California and shifted her career interest to real estate, advertising and finance. Her last 30 years she lived in or near Palm Springs, CA. She was known for her gentle smile, keen sense of humor and a warm congenial spirit that attracted her to so many people as she pursued her activities.
She is survived by her close companion, Ken Rasmussen, sister-in-law, Annie Marlow, and nephew, Randy Marlow. She was the sister of the late William, David, Grady, Oscar and James Marlow. Graveside services will be held at the Charity Cemetery in Hazel Green , AL on December 10, 2014 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
