Dorothy Jones Smith
December 29, 1926 — February 21, 2017
Dorothy Jones Smith, 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Hazel Green, Alabama. She had been a resident of Hazel Green for 38 years and was a member of Hazel Green United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Glen Smith, Sr; Son, Terry Glen Smith, Jr.; Mother, Annie Lee Williams Jones; Father, Athey Lee Jones; Great-grandson, Nicholas Michael Simmons; Four sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Simmons (Carl) and by her son, Donald Smith (Bonnie) - all of Hazel Green; Four grandchildren: Michael Simmons (Teresa), Jennifer Atkins (David), and Anna Smith - all of Hazel Green, and Tim Simmons of Atlanta, Ga; One great-grandson, Avery Atkins, and two great-granddaughters, Katelyn Simmons and Ella Atkins; One sister, Katie Crawford, one brother, Elmer Jones (Jane), and a brother-in-law, Jerry Wilbanks.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 11am with Rev. Jeff Haven officiating. Burial will follow at Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore.
