Dorothy Jane WalkerSeptember 24, 1924 ~ March 25, 2009Dorothy Jane Walker, 84, of Hazel Green died Wednesday at Huntsville Hospital.She retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers March 30th, 1990 where she received numerous awards for her devoted service. Her personality, generosity and great sense of humor helped her in building strong relationships with her coworkers. Those that met her and worked with her also grew to love her.She was preceded in death by her parents Walter "Bud" and Dovie Baker, three brothers, Louie, Eddie and Walter Baker and a special member of the family, Peggy Sue Lindsey. She leaves a family she loved deeply to cherish memories, which include One sister: Shelby Jean Tidwell of Guntersville; one daughter, Alice Walker of Hazel Green and two sons, Larry Walker and wife Tiffany of New Market and Robert Walker and wife Judy of Hazel Green, grandchildren Janet & Donnie Arnold, Jeff & Ingrid Hughes, Joseph Walker, Amanda Walker and Christy Jackson; great grandchildren Bryan Whisenant, Brock Arnold, Kayla Jane Arnold, Eva Jane Perez and AJ Jackson; and two special babies, Runt and Sugar.Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 5 until 8PM at the Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2PM at the funeral home with Rev. Keith Langer officiating with burial following in the Elkwood Cemetery.
