Doug Henson

Larry Douglas "Doug" Henson Jr., 38, of Hazel Green, passed away on Sunday.  He was energetic, enjoyed helping others, and loved spending time playing video games, working with computers, watching MMA fights.   Doug loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them.  He also loved nature and being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Mae Carpenter, his second mother, Dorothy Bosworth,  his grandmother, Kathleen Carpenter and by several aunts and uncles.

Doug is survived by his father, Larry Douglas Henson Sr of Cartersville, Georgia;  His step-mother, Leeann Henson of Cartersville, Ga; His grandmother, Jean McNeal of Huntsville;  His grandfather, Fred Carpenter of New Hope;  His brothers,  Todd Hollis of Hazel Green, Brian Ikard of Huntsville, Michael Ikard and Phillip Ikard of New Hope, and Scott Crace of Cartersville, Georgia; His sisters, Ginger Hollis of Hazel Green, Tonya Henson of New Hope, Dawn Henson of Cartersville, Georgia and Tina Clifford of Harvest;  His nephews, Mikey Hollis of Hazel Green and Brody Clifford of Harvest;  His nieces, Amber Hollis of Hazel Green, Kathleen Osborne of New Hope, and Darci Clifford of Harvest.  He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to thank Doug's extended family at Matboard Design Corporation for their kindness shown to Doug during his life.

The family will receive friends on Sunday at 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  A celebration of Doug's life will follow at 3pm also at the funeral home.
