Eddie Arthur Simmons

Funeral services for Eddie Arthur Simmons age 83 of Taft, Tennessee will be conducted Sunday 1PM at Elkwood Holiness Church with Bro. Royce Estes, Bro. David Kittrell and Bro. Mark Teet officiating. Burial will be in Underwood Cemetery. Mr. Simmons passed away Thursday morning at his residence. He was born in Big Cove to the late James Henry and Daisy Walls Simmons, he was a member of the Free Holiness Church and owner operator of S&S Trucking Company.

He is survived by his children, Sherry Simmons, Carrie Sanders, Anthony Simmons and Denita and her husband Stanley Stinnett, two brothers Lawrence and his wife Jane Simmons and Carl and his wife Sandy Simmons, one sister, Novella Simmons, his grandchildren, James (Melissa) Sanders, Curtis (Missy) Sanders, Stacy (Carlton) Cook, Kristina (Nathan) Jenkins, Aimee (Justin) Byrd, Adrian Stinnett and Andrew (Jessica) Stinnett and a special mention, Jessi Ellis, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of loving family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Simmons, one son, Eddie Simmons Jr. and one brother, Charles Simmons. Pallbearers will be James Sanders, Curtis Sanders, Adrian Stinnett, Andrew Stinnett, Nathan Jenkins and Justin Byrd. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Simmons, Michael Simmons, Bro. Wayne Walls, Bro. Shirley Byrom, Roy Poole and Wayne Caldwell.

Visitation will be Saturday 4-8PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home and the body will lie in state Sunday 11-1PM at Elkwood Holiness Church.
