Elaine (Phillips) Carlisle

Elaine Phillips Carlisle, 60, of Hazel Green, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday.

Elaine became a Christian when she was young.  She enjoyed thrift stores and yard sales, and she was a dedicated and loving wife who adored spending time with her husband, Dewayne and loved the holidays.  She was also a loving daughter,  mother, sister, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas and Ruby Nell Phillips;  Her mother-in-law, Mary Sue Huff;  Her brother, James "Jimmy" Phillips;  Her sister, Sandy Winkles;  Her sister, Bernice McMinn;  Her brother-in-law, Paul Howard; Her nephew, Shawn "Dinky" Howard;

Surviving family members include her husband of 42 years, Dewayne Carlisle;  Her children: Wendy (Rungie) Jones, Adam (Teresa) Carlisle,  and Kimberley (Chris) Carlisle;  Her grandchildren: Holly L. Carlisle, Rhea'Aja S. Jones, and Lauren N. Adams;  Her sisters:  Linda (Larry) Taylor, Shirley Howard, Kathy (Rayford) Keel, Tammy (Kevin) Smith, and Phoebe (Aubrey) Colwell;  Her brothers-in-law, Johnny Ray Huff, Danny McMinn, Steve Winkles;  Her sisters-in-law, Becky (J.R.) Ewing; She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Blondie Carlisle.

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 to 9pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.   A Celebration of Life service will be Sunday at 2:30pm at the funeral home followed by burial in New Sharon Cemetery.
