Elizabeth Jean (Acton) Eubanks, 79, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2015. Jean was a native of Birmingham, but lived in Huntsville for many years and was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL. She was a 1955 graduate from Ragland High school, in Ragland AL. and worked as a cashier and greeter at the Walmart supercenter in Fultondale, AL until her retirement in 2009.
Jean will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.
She is survived by her two sons, William Linn Eubanks and his loving wife Brenda Eubanks of Huntsville, AL and Donald Steve Eubanks of Fultondale, AL; two granddaughters Cassia Eubanks and Deja McDonald of Cordova, AL; two brothers William J. Acton of Birmingham, AL and Russell Acton of Leeds, AL; two sisters, Shirley A. (Acton) Turpin of Birmingham, AL, and Sue (Acton) Henderson of Panama Beach, FL.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Mark Hanna Acton Sr. and Johnnie Bea (Poole) Acton; her stepmother Louise (Kemp) Acton; three brothers, John D. Acton, Mark H. Acton Jr., and Drennen O. Acton; and one sister Ramona M. (Acton) Russell.
There will be a grave site service Saturday, October 31, 2015, at 12:00 pm, at the Acton Memorial Cemetery next to the Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church, 4660 Caldwell Mill Rd, Birmingham, AL 35243. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in her name to the Hospice of North Alabama, 3311 Bob Wallace Ave, Ste. 101, Huntsville, AL 35805.
