Mr. Frank Dupree McNeal, 86, of Hazel Green, passed away on Wednesday at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. McNeal was a veteran of the United States Navy.
After working for Hill Brothers on the square for a number of years, Mr. McNeal owned and operated his business, McNeal's Superette at the corner of Church Street and Wheeler Avenue in Huntsville. He then later worked for Star Market and retired there in 1993. He was a people person, he loved gospel and bluegrass music. and in his later years, he enjoyed spending time at the New Sharon Senior Center.
Mr. McNeal was preceded in death by his wives, Annabelle Thomas McNeal and Linda Ann Hall McNeal, and by his brothers, Cecil, Franklin, Earl and Charles McNeal.
He is survived by his daughters, Marilyn McNeal, Melissa Smith, and Janice Kubotsu, and by his son, Danny McNeal. Nine grandchildren: Jeanette Simi, David Kubotsu, Courtney McNeal Lavallee, Scott McNeal, Jason Gray, Casey Gray, Nicholas Gray, Tyler Smith, and Brooke Smith; Six Great-grandchildren: David Kubotsu Jr, Noah Kubotsu, Maddie Kubotsu, Marissa Dominguez, Carter Gray, and Lily Gray; His sisters: Jean McNeal and Eunice Campbell; His brother, A.J. McNeal.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 2pm at the funeral home with Bro. Doran Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
