George Allen White
April 14, 1931 — December 19, 2013
Mr. George Allen White, 82, of Hazel Green, passed away on Thursday at Huntsville Hospital. Most recently, he had worked at Heart of Dixie Popcorn at Moore's Mill and enjoyed the work he did there.
He had been a resident of the Valley View Health and Rehab Center in Madison for almost two years. He was known there as "Cowboy" and truly enjoyed his time living there. The family is appreciate of the special care that he received from the staff and he considered the facility his home.
Mr. White was preceded in death by his wife, Marie White; His parents, Elbert and Mary White; His daughter, Betty Blackwell; His son, James Hovis; And his grandson, Waylon Brazelton.
He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Hovis and wife, Brenda of Hazel Green, Lee Brazelton and wife, Donna of Toney, Joe Brazelton of Flintville, TN; His daughters, Debbie Billions and husband, William of Hazel Green, Delois Lawter and husband Tim of Madison, Dora Brazelton of Charlestown, SC, and Trudie Presley and husband, Brian of Harvest. His brother, Ellis White of Guntersville; Sisters: Thelma Riddle of New Market, and Linda "Cricket" Martin and husband Tony of Elora, TN; A host of grandchildren and friends.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 6 until 9pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Lon Ostrzycki officiating. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery.
