Geraldine Mcginness Walker

Mrs. Geraldine McGinness Walker, 84, of Hazel Green, passed away on Monday morning at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Geraldine was the kind of person that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.  Everyone who knew her has a funny story to tell.  She was a fun-loving, fiesty, strong, independent and energetic woman.  She was hard-working and set a good example for her children.  She loved her family and led and honest, exciting life.  There was never a dull moment with Geraldine.

She was the kind of person that everyone enjoyed being around.  When she walked into a room she was the life of the party and everybody was guaranteed a laugh and a good time when she was around. Geraldine made many friends over the years - including Jean Henshaw who was her friend and coworker for over 50 years, Reba Campbell, her girlfriend from school, and Sandra Posey, a close friend from church - to name a few.  They had many adventures and made many good memories together.  She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Walker;  By her sister, Ophelene Hunter;  and by her parents, Nola and Newt McGinness.

Surviving family members include her five children: Kathy Baker, Toney Walker, Jeffrey Walker, Lisa Bagwell, and Rodney Walker;  She is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11am until 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2pm at the funeral home with Dr. Harold Fanning officiating.
