On February 24, 2015, Glenn Allan Shelby of Hazel Green, AL, left this world to be with the Lord at the age of 51. Glenn left behind his beloved wife, Maria and his beautiful daughter, Madison. He was a devoted husband, father and son, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Glenn was born February 26, 1963 in Paducah, KY to Nancy Beshear Shelby Kweik and Glenn Shelby. Glenn graduated from Ballard County Kentucky High School in 1981, and from Murray State University with a Bachelors Degree in Physics Engineering in 1986. Glenn went on to earn his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from UAH.

On July 18, 1987, Glenn married Maria Ice Shelby, and they began their lives together in Huntsville, AL. He began his career in 1986 as an electrical engineer with Nichols Research Corporation in Huntsville. In 2000, Glenn became the EMI Lab Manager at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.

Glenn was a member of First Baptist Church of Hazel Green, serving as a deacon, choir member, and for many years was part of the outreach and nursing home worship ministry. He was an "old tractor enthusiast", and annually participated in the Paducah Kentucky Tractor show with his family.

Left to cherish Glenn's memory are his wife, Maria, and his daughter, Madison Leigh Shelby of Hazel Green, AL. Glenn is also survived by his mother, Nancy Beshear Kweik of Versailles, KY and his father Richard Glenn (Jean) Shelby of Kevil, KY; his sister, NaJia "Reemi" (Tony) Perkins of Eau Claire, WI, and stepsisters Donna (Rob) Stevens of Kevil, KY, Melinda (Steve)Dunn of Paducah, KY, and Monna (Gary) McElya of Kevil, KY. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 to 8pm at the First Baptist Church of Hazel Green. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2pm at the church with the Rev. Bobby Eads and the Rev. Mike Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Charity Cemetery.
