Gwendoline Fowler

Gwendoline Murphy Fowler passed away at home on April 30, 2019. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 13, 1939. She was raised in Birmingham, AL, attended Ensley High School and graduated from Samford University. After a brief career, she then devoted herself to her family and to church activities, as her husband served as a Minister of Music for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Gwen Crye; son-in-law, Bert Crye; grandchildren, Parker Crye and Kaitlyn Crye; and cousins Joanne McGough and MaryJohn Allsopp. She was preceded in death by Richard B. Fowler, her loving husband of 54 years; mother Gwendoline A. Murphy, father Sidney P. Murphy, and brother William (Billy) Murphy. A private family graveside service will be held Friday, May 3 at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL.
