Harold Harbin

Harold Harbin, 83, of Hazel Green, passed away on Sunday at his home. He had served Madison County's District 1 for 40 years. He served as Commissioner from 1996 until 2000. Mr. Harbin graduated from Hazel Green High School. He then helped operate Harbin's Store, the family business located in the Walnut Grove community. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sona Harbin; His daughter, Scottie (Jim) Burnett; Son-in-law, Rodney Jones; granddaughters, Alex Shaw and Casey Jones; Sister, Ruby Campbell; Brother, Billy (Joyce) Harbin; Nieces, Patsy (Dan) Poole, Sandy (Barry) Phillips; and nephew, Danny Harbin; He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mitzi Jones. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 4 to 7pm at Hazel Green First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7pm with Pastor Bobby Eads officiating. A graveside service will be Wednesday at 11am at Taylor Cemetery with Rev. Billy Britton officiating. Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
