Surviving family members include his children, Carla Gentle, Timothy (Gloria) McPeters, Paul (Heather) McPeters, and Phillip (Sara Cunningham) McPeters;  8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, his brother, Leonard (Eddie) McPeters, and his sister, Shirley (Otis) Largen. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Sunday at 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy E. McPeters and Rev. Dewayne Martin officiating.  Burial will follow the service in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in New Market.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.  2 Timothy 4:5-8
