Henry E. ShockleySep. 15, 1922 - June 24, 2012Mr. Henry E. Shockley, 89, of Hazel Green died Sunday. He was a farmer and home builder. Mr. Shockley enjoyed gardening, riding on his tractor, woodworking, and Braves baseball. Most of all he cherished spending time visiting with his friends and family. He especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Shockley was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Hill Shockley; two sisters and two brothers. Survivors include his daughters, Diane S. Moore and her husband Jackie T. Moore, Linda Edwards-Hamlett and her fiancé James Frank Ray; his brother, Johnny Shockley, Jr.; his grandchildren, David B. Edwards, Scott Moore, Amy Moore French; his great-grandchildren, Savannah and Riley Moore, McKenzie Edwards and Madeline Leigh French. Visitation is Thursday 10 am at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The funeral service is 11 am Thursday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeff Havens and Chaplain Rob Peavy officiating. Burial will follow in Stateline Cemetery.
