Herman HicksApril 29, 1926 ~ September 6, 2011Mr. Herman Hicks, 85, of Hazel Green passed away Tuesday at his residence. He was in dairy business for 45 years and was awarded top dairyman in state of Alabama for 15 years and an Army veteran of WWII. He was a deacon and active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary W. Hicks; his children, Nelda McCabe and husband Harry, Ray Hicks, Tony Hicks; six grandchildren, Jennifer, John, Mikaila, Mary and Krista Hicks, and Patrick McCabe. Visitation is Thursday 5 to 8 pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The funeral service is Friday at 11 am at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lon Ostryzcki officiating. Burial will follow in Charity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church. Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
