H.N. "Speedy" Carter

H. N. "Speedy" Carter of Toney, AL passed away on Jan. 2, 2015. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korean Conflict.
Born on November 28, 1926, near Cottontown in Sumner County, TN, he was preceded in death by his father Robert Herndon, mother Minnie Newman Carter, brothers Robert, James, Jack, Thomas and Edward; sisters Nellie, Bessie and Kathleen.
Survived by his wife, Doris Arnold Carter, son Byron and wife Darleen, son Scott and wife Lea Anne, grandchildren Jonathan Carter, Jesi Carter Barnes and Evan Reed, great-grandchildren, Nellie and JJ Barnes and Augustus "Gus" Carter.
A graveside committal service with military honors will be held on Thursday, January 15th at 11am at the Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery.
