Rev. James W. Campbell, 81 of Hazel Green, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Huntsville. He was born at home one-hundred yards from where he lived the majority of his life. He graduated from Hazel Green High School and received his degree from Athens State University. He was an elementary and middle school teacher in Madison County for 35 years and was ordained as a Cumberland Presbyterian minister in 1962.He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ada Jane Thomason Campbell just three weeks ago and was also preceded in death by his parents, William W. and Viola Miller Campbell and one sister, Alvarine McCollum.He is survived by two sons: Stephen J. and his wife Andrea Campbell of Huntsville and Harold W. Campbell and his friend Ann Patterson of Sterling Heights, Michigan. His daughter, Lilah C. Williams and her husband Leonard of Owens Cross Roads and by one brother, Raymond E. Campbell of Hazel Green. His grandchildren, Will Campbell, Clint Reed, Misty Glover, Grant Reed, Blake Campbell, Brittney McMinn, and Byron Campbell and by his great grandchildren, Hunter Campbell, Ada Reed, Hollee Campbell, and Allison McMinn.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10Am at the church with Rev. Buddy Alverson and Rev. Eddie Dell Lones officating and burial will follow in the Concord Cemetery with the Hazel Green Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.In lieu of flowers make donations to CPW at Concord Church; 354 Roy Davis Road; New Market, Alabama 35761.
