Survivors include his children, Jimmy and Yvonne Whiteley, Tammie and Robin Newby and Mary and Terry Mathis, his grandchildren, Cody Whiteley, Gabriel Whiteley, Robert A. Newby, Charles Mathis and Becky Shockney and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Whiteley was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
