James Robert "Bob" Carroll, 73, of Hazel Green, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 31st, while surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Cepil Carroll, and by several brothers and sisters.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife, Carol Law Carroll; his son Jamey Carroll and his wife Kasi; his daugher Beth Webster and her husband Blake, his son Joseph Carroll and his wife Holly; and his grandchildren Mason, Tucker, Kate, and Jacob Carroll who lovingly referred to him as Granbobby. He is also survived by his brother Randy Carroll, his sister Patty Pacheco and her husband Wayne, and by several nieces and nephews who all knew him as Uncle Bobby.
Mr. Carroll was a proud member of the Shelbyville Central High School class of 1965, a Vietnam war veteran, and retired from Winn Dixie Food Stores after a 42 year career where he was known to all his co-workers as "Mr. Friendly" as he always had a smile and a handshake for everyone.
In retirement, Mr. Carroll was an avid reader and supporter of local businesses, such as his favorite restaurant Cassie's Cafe of Hazel Green, AL.
