Jay Wendell Kea passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 7:30am. He was 83 years old.  Mr. Kea was an aeronautical engineering graduate from Mississippi State University. He also served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War.  Mr. Kea worked for the Air Force, Robbins Air Force Base, Georgia, NASA, the Army Missile Command, BMD in Huntsville (from which he retired after 33 years of service), and except for the four years that Jay and his family spent on the Kawajalien Marshall Islands they have resided in the Huntsville, Alabama area for about 50 years.

Jay is survived by his wife of 60 years: Betty;  His sons, Morris and his wife, Denise, and Murray;  His daughter, Susan Newkirk and her husband, Clayton; His grandsons, Nick Kea, Cameron and Austin Newkirk, and his sisters, Faye Thompson and Jean Etheridge.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2pm at the First Baptist Church of Hazel Green with Revs. Mike Patterson and Bobby Eads officiating.  Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.

A private family burial will be held after the service.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hazel Green's Building Fund or to the charity of your choice.
