Jean Graves, 81, of Meridianville, passed away on Wednesday evening at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was a faithful member of Meridianville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She retired from Redstone Arsenal where she worked as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her son, William Alexander "Billy" Graves Jr.; By her mother, Ruth Croft; By her father, Wince Messer.
Surviving family members include her husband, WIlliam Alexander "Bill" Graves Sr; Her daughter and son-in-law, Kristi & Michael Javins; Her son and daughter-in-law, John & Gladys Graves. Her sister, Diane Hess and her husband, Rodney; Her grandchildren: Kasey (Will) Parsons, Julia Underwood, Kandice Graves, and Jonathan Graves. Her great-grandchildren: Madison Lowe, Montanna Lowe, Brooklyn Hymer, Mekhi Underwood, Riley Hymer, Jayden Hymer, Nileah Maclouse, and Taylor Robinson; Her great-great-grandchildren: Delilah Watson and Jaxson Graves; Her nieces: Ashia Vezinat and Whitney Hess; Her great-niece, Rowan Vezinat.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will have a private gathering at Hazel Green Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon. The funeral service will begin at 1:30pm with Pastor Keith Lorrick officiating. Burial will follow the service and will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
