Jerry Lynn Acklin

Jerry Lynn Acklin, 58, of Huntsville, passed away on Saturday.  He was associated with the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry D. & Peggy Sue Acklin;  His brother, Michael David Acklin and his wife Bobbie Carroll Acklin;  His niece, Victoria Lynn Cagle.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Thursday at 1pm at the funeral home with Bro. Bill Cantrell officiating.

Burial will follow in Charity Cemetery.

PUBLIC HEALTH NOTICE: As of the time this obituary was posted, The Centers for Disease control is advising that funerals can still take place under a 50-person limit. For funerals taking place, they suggest limiting attendance to select family and livestreaming the service for those who cannot attend. They further advised that those who are ill and are at-risk (e.g., elderly, immune-compromised) should be encouraged to stay home. Attendees are encouraged to follow recommended healthy habits such as social distancing, hand hygiene, covering cough and sneezes, etc.

On March 16, the White House released “The President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America - 15 Days to Slow the Spread.” Among these guidelines are that people “Avoid social gatherings in groups of more than 10 people” for the next 15 days (until March 31).
