Jimmy William Jean, age 60, gained his wings on Monday, April 14, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was a resident of New Market, Alabama but grew up on Butter and Egg Road in Hazel Green, Alabama.  He was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church.  He was born to the late William Fenton and Velma Louise Jean who loved him dearly.

Jimmy loved music.  He played drums and guitar.  He loved KISS music back in the day.  He loved working around the house and keeping the yard neat.  He was so neat and organized with no clutter.  He always starched and ironed his jeans putting creases in them.  He had an amazing knack for figuring numbers in his head.  This served him well in his work and everyday life.  He was fearless when he was young riding his minibike jumping ramps he built.  He was very intelligent and a hard worker.  He could do anything.  Jimmy appreciated his friends.

Jimmy was preceded by his wife, Kelly Olson Jean who loved him without measure and thought he was so handsome.  He was also preceded in death by his parents William Fenton and Velma Louise Jean; brothers, James R. (Bobby) McMeans and Darry Lynn McMeans, and his nephew James McMeans.

Jimmy is survived by sisters, Carolyn Jean McElyea (Larry) and Shirley Jean Steelman (Wayne); stepchildren, Caleb Love and Candice Brinegar, step grandchildren, Aiden and Brendon; nieces, Carol Steelman Rutledge (Jeff) and Melanie Steelman Henley (Trent) and nephew, Daron McMeans.  He also had two guitar playing great nephews, Eric and Owen; great niece Sweet Charlotte; his pets Molly and Saban who kept him company and a very special friend Lisa Sharp Sparks.

Jimmy is missed tremendously, and this has left us broken hearted, but we will see him again.  He was such a joy.  Jimmy didn't like saying goodbye so, SEE YOU LATER!

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 22nd at 1:00 with burial at Stateline Cemetery immediately following the service.
